How Ohio State commits fared

Playing in what he called the biggest game of his career, Elyria (Ohio) defensive tackle Tracy Sprinkle had a did-you-see-that type of performance.

Sprinkle kept Elyria’s Division I playoff hopes very much alive in a 26-16 win over Hudson. Elyria has only qualified for the postseason once in school history (2005).

The 6-foot-3, 230-pound senior finished the evening with 12 tackles, four sacks, three quarterback hurries and a pass deflection.

Here’s how the other 16 Ohio State commits fared in this weekend’s action: J.T. Barrett: Rider quarterback is out for season with torn ACL and meniscus. His team beat Azle (Texas) 29-22.

Marcus Baugh: Tight end was part of offensive passing attack that gained 244 yards in J.W. North’s 34-13 loss to Rancho Verde (Calif).

Joey Bosa: With three players suspended, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and its defensive tackle still managed 63-13 win over Nova.

Cam Burrows: Cornerback did not record a tackle in 75-7 win by Trotwood-Madison (Ohio) over Sidney.

Ezekiel Elliott: Running back carried 28 times for 211 yards and had three touchdowns in 34-6 win by John Burroughs (Mo.) over Maplewood-Richmond Heights.

Tim Gardner: Offensive tackle helped quarterback Drake Christen pick up 283 yards total offense in Lawrence Central’s 34-13 playoff win over Southport (Ind.).

Michael Hill: Broken and dislocated ring finger kept defensive tackle on sideline as Pendleton (S.C.) beat Liberty 37-23.

Taivon Jacobs: Wide receiver snatched 79-yard touchdown pass in 35-0 win by Suitland (Md.) over Bladensburg.

Darron Lee: New Albany (Ohio) safety had tackle for loss and held Watkins Memorial (Ohio) to 26 yards passing in 34-7 win.

Tyquan Lewis: Defensive end/linebacker held Farmville Central (N.C.) scoreless in Tarboro’s 21-0 win to keep Vikings undefeated on season.

Evan Lisle: Offensive tackle helped Centerville (Ohio) to 212 yards total offense in 27-21 loss to Beavercreek.

Jalin Marshall: Athlete was 3-of-15 for 76 yards with a touchdown and rushed 23 times for 135 yards and another score in Middletown’s 20-19 win over Hamilton (Ohio).

Billy Price: Defensive tackle recorded five tackles -- two for loss -- in Austintown Fitch’s 28-6 win over Uniontown Lake (Ohio).

Jayme Thompson: Safety held Toledo St. Francis DeSales (Ohio) scoreless in 60-0 win by Toledo Central Catholic.

Johnny Townsend: Aside from being named homecoming king, punter had two punts of 48 yards and another for 58 yards -- a 51.3 yard average -- in Orlando (Fla.) Boone’s 46-22 loss to Freedom.

Eli Woodard: Cornerback was part of Eastern squad that rallied to beat Cherokee (N.J.) 20-17.
