How OSU commits fared over weekend

The good news for J.T. Barrett was when he was in during Rider’s 44-17 win over Brewer, he looked good. The bad news is he left the game after one series with a knee injury.

When he played, Barrett rushed for 49 yards and a score and was 2-of-4 for 41 yards. Here’s how the other 16 Ohio State commitments fared in high school action over the weekend:

Marcus Baugh: Tight end made a handful of catches and recorded first career sack in John W. North’s 21-12 win over Canyon Springs.

Joey Bosa: Defensive tackle made five tackles and had a sack in Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas’ 27-24 loss to Miramar.

Cam Burrows: Cornerback kept Greenville without a passing touchdown in 62-12 Trotwood-Madison victory.

Ezekiel Elliott: Running back and John Burroughs had bye.

Tim Gardner: Offensive tackle helped Lawrence Central rack up 419 yards rushing in 36-22 win over Franklin Central.

Michael Hill: Defensive tackle held Powdersville to a single touchdown in 41-6 win by Pendleton.

Darron Lee: Quarterback/safety showed how valuable he will be to the Buckeyes in span of 151 seconds when he scored on a 1-yard sneak, intercepted a pass and found end zone again on 32-yard keeper in second half to lift New Albany over Olentangy 33-14.

Tyquan Lewis: Defensive end/linebacker made key fumble recovery in Tarboro’s 34-27 win over Kinston to keep Vikings undefeated.

Evan Lisle: Offensive tackle helped Centerville gain 253 yards on ground in a 14-0 victory over Northmont.

Taivon Jacobs: Wide receiver had three catches for 42 yards in Suitland’s 26-6 loss to DuVal.

Jalin Marshall: Quarterback rushed 23 times for 94 yards and was 6-of-18 for 87 yards in Middletown’s 41-14 loss to Cincinnati Colerain.

Billy Price: Defensive tackle had four tackles and a tackle for loss in Austintown Fitch’s 34-14 loss to Massillon.

Tracy Sprinkle: Despite getting hurt, defensive tackle recorded 10 tackles, a sack and two quarterback hurries in Elyria’s 28-14 win over Cuyahoga Falls.

Jayme Thompson: Safety was part of Toledo Central Catholic team that didn’t allow any passing yards in undefeated Fighting Irish’s 47-7 win over Lima Senior.

Johnny Townsend: Boone lost 23-6 to Dr. Phillips. One of Townsend’s punts was returned for a 43-yard score.

Eli Woodard: Cornerback was on wrong side of 34-17 loss to undefeated Williamstown.
