COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The jockeying for position continues behind Braxton Miller.

Obviously the Ohio State quarterback still isn't even close to giving up the top spot, but a handful of guys all made cases to move into position right behind him in the latest power rankings after a thorough 63-38 beating of Nebraska on Saturday night at Ohio Stadium.

A senior defensive end finally made the type of consistent impact he's been known for throughout his career. A game-breaking cornerback ended an interception drought and tacked on another touchdown. Even on a quiet night in the passing game, a wide receiver made a move on special teams that moved him up a bit in the pecking order for the Buckeyes.

In all, there was no shortage of standout individual performances to evaluate -- which is a good problem to have for Urban Meyer, and a tricky one to deal with in the latest edition of the Ohio State 10.

No. 1: QB Braxton Miller

  • Last week: No. 1
  • Against Nebraska: The sophomore would have had a difficult time losing his spot in the rankings no matter what happened against the Huskers, but another dynamic performance on the ground surely helped his standing in a national awards conversation as well. Miller was simply incredible against a team that prides itself on playing defense, rushing for 186 yards and a touchdown and throwing for 127 more with another score.
