Outside linebacker Dante Booker (Akron, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary) indicated Friday morning that he will be making an unofficial visit to Ohio State to watch the Buckeyes play Miami (Ohio) in the season opener.
That’s big news for Ohio State as the Buckeyes are high on the 6-foot-3, 215-pound Booker.
Last season, he stood out on the Irish’s playoff team with 157 tackles, 14 sacks, three fumble recoveries and four forced fumbles.
Booker currently holds offers from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State and Penn State.
Auburn and Wisconsin also are showing interest.
He is considered one of the big three linebackers the Buckeyes are targeting in the class of 2014 along with Clifton Garrett (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield South) and Raekwon McMillan (Hinesville, Ga./Liberty).
Quarterback Drew Barker (Hebron, Ky./Conner) will also make an unofficial visit to Ohio State on Saturday.
