Offensive tackle Jamarco Jones (Chicago/De La Salle Institute) was presented his honorary 2014 Under Armour All-America High School Football game jersey Sept. 4.
Jones, an Ohio State commitment, is one of 90 players selected to compete in the seventh-annual Under Armour All-America Game, which will be nationally televised at 4 p.m. ET on Jan. 2 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. on ESPN.
“I want to thank everybody -- my classmates, my mom, my coaches, everybody at De La Salle. I thank you all for coming out today … especially my mom. She has supported me throughout my whole life -- especially with academics,” Jones said. “I received a lot of great reviews from players who have played in the game in the past, and I am looking forward to competing with the best players in the country. Some of the best defensive lineman in college football right now played in this game and are playing in it this year, so getting to go up against those types of players before college is going to be the best preparation for me.”
The 6-foot-4, 300-pound Jones is the No. 66 ranked prospect in the ESPN 300, and the No. 8 offensive tackle. He selected Ohio State over offers from Florida, Notre Dame, Michigan, Florida State, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Nebraska and many others.
