Week in review: Got one, missed three

June, 17, 2013
Ohio State got its kicks, but lost a few in a wild week of recruiting.

Here’s an overview of what happened:

On Sunday, Derek Kief, who broke down his top five late Friday, picked Alabama over Ohio State. However, Chad Mavety and the Buckeyes are looking more like a fit. Raekwon McMillan took a trip to Florida, however, and is lining up another one soon.

On Saturday, big 2015 offensive tackle Drew Richmond got almost everything he wanted out of his trip to Ohio State, while Solomon Thomas put Ohio State in his final eight.

Friday came with news that Ohio State will have to battle Florida for Justus Reed and the Buckeyes lost a chance to grab quarterback Zack Darlington, who committed to Nebraska.

On Thursday, ESPN 150 guard Braden Smith gave the latest on his recruiting and BuckeyeNation hammered out a list of some big-time prospects making their way on campus in June.

On Wednesday, foreign exchange student and Ohio State target Hjalte Froholdt broke down his year in the states and talked his future in college football. ESPN 150 safety Jamal Adams broke down his top eight and yes, Ohio State is in there. Buckeyes legacy Derek Barnett picked up an offer, as did Brock Ruble.
