Change of plans for ESPN 150's Watson
By Kipp Adams
After being committed to Clemson since signing day 2012, ESPN 150 quarterback Deshaun Watson (Gainesville, Ga./Gainesville) has made a change in his recruitment.
ESPN 150 Clemson commit Deshaun Watson says his recruitment is finished as he aims to concentrate on leading his Gainesville, Ga., team to a second state title.
Less than two weeks after saying he planned to take all five official visits, the No. 1 prospect in Georgia talked things over with his mom and has now decided to cancel plans to check out programs like Auburn, Georgia, Ohio State and Oregon during the summer or fall.
"I am done," Watson said.
Instead, Watson intends to focus on rewriting the record books during his senior season and pursuing his school's second state championship. He led the Red Elephants to their first title in his junior season, setting the state's career passing record in the process. The No. 13 prospect in the country, Watson plans to enroll early at Clemson in January after playing in January's 2014 Under Armour All-America Game.
