Ducks land son of former NBA All-Star
Small forward Elgin Cook (Milwaukee/Northwest Florida State College), the son of former NBA all-star Alvin Robertson, verbally committed to Oregon on Wednesday, ESPN.com has confirmed.
Cook originally signed with Iowa State out of high school but opted for junior college after failing to qualify. The 6-foot-6 wing chose the Ducks over Gonzaga, Arkansas, Illinois, New Mexico and South Carolina, among others.
Cook joins an Oregon class ranked No. 39 in ESPN's RecruitingNation. Joining him in Eugene will be ESPN 100 PF Jordan Bell (Long Beach, Calif./Poly), SF A.J. Lapray (Salem, Ore./Sprague), PF Cristiano Felicio (Brazil) and SF Jalil Abdul-Bassit (Anchorage, Alaska/North Idaho College). Twin guards Tyree and Tyrell Robinson (San Diego/Lincoln) signed letters of intent to play football for the Ducks but are also expected to join the basketball team.
