BEAVERTON, Ore. -- The Elite 11 finals features quarterbacks with résumés that include 20, 30 and even 40 scholarship offers from schools all over the country. Then there is Kentfield (Calif.) Marin Catholic three-star quarterback Morgan Mahalak.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound, dual-threat quarterback entered the Elite 11 without ever having started a varsity game. He was talented enough on film to earn looks from Duke, Idaho, NC State, Oregon State, South Alabama and USF before being offered by and committing to Oregon, but still there’s no question his body of work pales in comparison to others in the event.

That hasn’t stopped him from showing he belongs, though.
