With all the changes to the list of official visitors that Oregon was trying to get on campus this weekend, one of the longshots to actually make the trip could prove to be one of the biggest chips to fall as Oregon looks to finish its recruiting class with a bang. Linebacker is likely the biggest need in this year's class and one of the biggest -- and best -- linebackers in the country is in Eugene this weekend.

The No. 278 player in the ESPN 300 -- and the No. 17 OLB -- Peter Kalambayi of Matthews (N.C.) Butler is on campus this weekend as the Ducks take on Stanford, the school he has been committed to since June. The 6-foot-3, 238-pound linebacker always insisted that he wanted to visit the Ducks despite remaining committed to the Cardinal. Stanford commits always have the unique issue of having to wait to see if they are admitted into the prestigious university.

Kalambayi recently said that even though things look good for him to gain admission, he is still taking a serious look at Oregon because it has long been the one and only program that he would consider outside of Stanford. The Ducks and the Cardinal meet tonight in a game that will likely determine the Pac-12 North crown for a second straight year.

It remains to be seen how serious the No. 11 player in North Carolina is about considering a switch from the Cardinal to the Ducks. If traveling across the country at the last minute to see them in person -- as they take on the school that currently holds his commitment -- means anything, the Ducks might be set to make a big move for Kalambayi.
