After a successful unofficial visit to Oregon's campus in June, Chris Seisay (American Canyon, Calif./American Canyon) had seen all he needed to see. So did the Ducks as Seisay was given an offer within 24 hours after a standout showing at the Oregon Football Camp.
Seisay returned to Eugene this past weekend for his official visit. This time, his parents joined him as they had yet to see everything he raved about.
"It was real cool. I saw everything this summer and knew that's where I wanted to be," Seisay said. "I had to go home and talk to my parents before I committed because I had just committed to Boise State earlier that week."
The two-way star was thrilled when his parents agreed with his choice. He also knew they would want to see it for themselves.
"They loved it. It's a nice town and they like that it is a quiet college town," Seisay said. "Except for the stadium. They were going crazy for the Ducks and that's when I knew they were cool with it, too."
Seisay was impressed with the game day atmosphere in and around Autzen Stadium, as well as with the product on the field.
"The first half was wild. They were making plays all over the place. It's crazy to see up close how fast they really are," said Seisay, who was joined by teammate and 2014 athlete, Malik Beachum (American Canyon, Calif./American Canyon). "The second half got kind of sloppy but they still looked good out there. I can't wait to put that on that Duck uniform."
For Seisay and his parents it is the perfect location as he can get away from home while being just a few hours away by car.
"It's perfect. I can go out on my own and do my thing while knowing they will be there all the time to support me."
The future Ducks' safety also had a chance to catch up with some future teammates. Two other Oregon commits were in town as running back Thomas Tyner (Aloha, Ore./Aloha) and offensive lineman Evan Voeller (West Linn, Ore./West Linn) were on unofficial visits. Seisay's friend and fellow Ducks commit Darren Carrington (San Diego, Calif./Horizon) was the other official visitor for the weekend.
"I've known Darren since the spring when I met him at the [Oregon] camp. He's real cool and we had a good time getting to know the other guys, too," Seisay said. "I was only disappointed because the twins [Tyrell and Tyree Robinson] (San Diego, Calif./Lincoln) weren't there. I wanted to do my part and try and get them to commit."
