Myles Jack considering Oregon visit

Before his Bellevue High team took on powerhouse Euless (Texas) Trinity High School on Thursday night, UCLA linebacker commit Myles Jack (Bellevue, Wash./Bellevue) discussed his continued interest in the Oregon Ducks.

In spite of his solid commitment to the Bruins, the Ducks are among the handful of teams Jack says will likely receive an official visit.

UCLA and Georgia Tech will definitely receive an official visit from the athletic linebacker. Oregon is among the other programs in the mix for one of his remaining visits.

"I'm still committed to UCLA and as of now I think that it will remain that way," Jack said. "I am going to visit UCLA for sure. I'll visit them along with Georgia Tech. After that Oregon and Utah will probably get a visit as well. Utah is in there me because I've never been there and they have a strong program."

Jack explained why he has continued interest in checking out other programs.

"Everyone has something to offer and I know that this is a huge decision for me," Jack said. "I want to do everything I can to ensure that I make the right decision on signing day."

With Oregon's need to sign two or three linebackers in this year's class, Jack has become a bigger focus for the Ducks as they search to replace Michael Clay and Kiko Alonso after the 2012 season.

His ability to fly around and make plays makes him a good fit in Oregon's aggressive defense.

"Oregon does a lot of things that are different from other schools, but not just on offense," Jack said. "Their defense is impressive. Just like on offense, they make sure their playmakers are always around the ball.

Jack is unsure of when he will take his official visits, as his senior season is the main thing on his mind.

"We have a great program at Bellevue. We've won three straight state titles and I don't want to be a part of a senior class that doesn't go out on top," he said.

Jack has visited a number of schools unofficially, with most of those coming back in the spring.

"I have been to Washington, UCLA, Cal, Stanford, Georgia Tech, Arizona State, Oregon and South Carolina so far," Jack said. "I went to Oregon back in the spring and really enjoyed my time there. The town of Eugene is nice and the people are great. They really support everything about the school."
