NORMAN, Okla. -- The spring evaluation period in the books, so it’s time for the summer camp season of the recruiting cycle. Oklahoma isn’t wasting any time with its on-campus three-day camp starting on Saturday.

NORMAN, Okla. -- Watching Oklahoma in spring practice, it is clear there is a lack of defensive depth.

Cornerback is no exception. OU will welcome three cornerbacks into the fold in the fall, but there is still a lot of work to be done at the position.

It’s still early in the Class of 2014 cycle, but a disturbing trend is developing. OU is there early and then fizzles out.

ESPN 150 targets: Oklahoma

The first ESPN 150 has been released with one of Oklahoma’s four commits making the cut in Under Armour All-American Justice Hansen (Edmond, Okla./Santa Fe).

That doesn’t mean it’s a weak class for the Sooners as the list is peppered with top targets. Adding some of these 10 prospects -- listed from highest to lowest rank -- would be a great way to get OU back up in the recruiting rankings:

1. ATH Michiah Quick (Fresno, Calif./Central East)
6-foot, 170 pounds
ESPN 150 Rank: No. 22

Oklahoma hopes to continue a recruiting pipeline with its pursuit of Michiah Quick (Fresno, Calif./Central East). The Sooners signed Central East defensive backs L.J. Moore and Hatari Byrd in February and are hoping to lure Quick to Big 12 country as well. Central East defensive backs coach Tony Perry talked with SoonerNation about Quick's special talents, competitiveness and the impact Byrd and Moore could have on Quick's decision.

With a winning tradition like OU has, it makes sense. You can offer a recruit in California or Florida and just say, “We’re OU. We want you.”
