There were a slew of Oklahoma and Texas high school recruits being pursued by Oklahoma in action last weekend at the Nike Football Training Camp event at the Dallas Cowboys practice facility, but that’s not where the Sooners sent out offers.

OU never has been more aggressive in pursuing non-regional prospects in states such as Florida and California and that trend continued in the last week. The Sooners made three offers in the last week, and none were from Oklahoma or Texas.

Oklahoma has made big strides with wide receivers in California. Receivers coach Jay Norvell has been able to lure big-time talents like Kenny Stills and Derrick Woods (Inglewood, Calif./Inglewood) to Norman, Okla.

Woods' influence could play a role in OU offering receiver Darrell Daniels (Oakley, Calif./Freedom). Daniels and Woods are friends and Woods already is starting to talk up the Sooners to Daniels.

The Sooners extended one big new offer to a 2013 prospect this week. Bob Przybylo breaks down the most recent offer and where OU stands:

• With junior day approaching, it was a rather quiet week on the offer front for Oklahoma. The only notable offer was to offensive tackle Hunter Bivin (Owensboro, Ky./Apollo).

Bivin, 6-foot-6 and 290 pounds, has offers from nearly every major college program. He has been on OU’s radar for a while, but it will be tough to take Bivin away from the Midwest. Bivin is an ESPNU Watch List member.
