Staff picks: Oklahoma State vs. Oklahoma
By SoonerNation staff
Oklahoma 31, Oklahoma State 30 After watching OSU last weekend, Barry Switzer believes this game might be close. I tend to agree. The Sooners have a lot to correct defensively, and I think they will, for the most part. But OSU is too talented offensively for the Sooners to completely shut down. The Cowboys are also quietly playing solid defense. But Jalen Saunders and Sterling Shepard and Justin Brown and Kenny Stills are a handful. While OU might struggle to run the ball, Landry Jones should be able to pass. This game might require some more fourth-quarter heroics. Luckily for the Sooners, Jones showed he's more than capable of delivering last weekend.

Oklahoma 45, Oklahoma State 42 For the second straight week, the Sooners pull out the victory in the fourth quarter thanks to Landry Jones. The Sooners' four-receiver package creates problems for OSU, but both offenses have success for much of the game. The Sooners force a key turnover in the fourth quarter, allowing Jones to lead OU to a game-winning touchdown. And the Sooners defense comes up with a critical stop on OSU's next possession as OU avenges the 2011 drubbing by the Cowboys.

Oklahoma 29, Oklahoma State 27 All season it has felt like Kenny Stills is the security blanket for Landry Jones. Last week proved that he was. The Cowboys target Stills all game leading to Justin Brown, Sterling Shepard and Jalen Saunders making key contributions. But this game will be won by defense. Embarrassed by last week's overall performance, safety Tony Jefferson comes up huge, causing at least one turnover in a game that won't be as high-scoring as some anticipate.
