3 Up, 3 Down: OU 50, West Virginia 49

Who was up and who was down in the Sooners' wild 50-49 win at West Virginia:

THREE UP

1. QB Landry Jones: The senior quarterback might have had the best game of his career. Jones threw for 554 yards and six touchdowns, the final giving the Sooners the come-from-behind victory. On that play, Jones audibled from a fade to a slant, which Kenny Stills hauled in on fourth down.

2. OU receivers: This is rounding out to be one of the best WR corps in OU history. The Sooners don't have a Ryan Broyles, but the quartet of Stills (10 catches, 91 yards, 4 TDs), Jalen Saunders (7, 123, 1), Justin Brown (6, 112) and Sterling Shepard (4, 97) has become quite formidable.

3. WR Kenny Stills: Stills needs to be singled out for his performance, which was as clutch as it gets. He tied the school record with four TD catches, and moved into fourth all-time at OU with 23 career touchdown receptions. If it weren't for him and Jones, the Sooners would have been sunk.

THREE DOWN

1. The entire OU defense: An interesting stat would be how many yards Tavon Austin gained before even being touched. Yes, the tackling was poor, but often the seas parted and Austin scampered into the open field unscathed. Just a dismal defensive performance from the line to the secondary, as the Sooners gave up a whopping 778 yards of offense.

2. Mike Stoops: Let's face it, Dana Holgersen out-schemed him. The Stoops Brothers admitted they were not prepared for Holgersen's wrinkle of moving Austin from receiver to running back. Even after Austin kept gashing the Sooners on the ground, Stoops stuck with the seven-defensive back alignment into the second half. That nearly cost OU the game.

3. Offensive line health: The only offensive lineman who hasn’t been injured this season was right tackle Daryl Williams. Well, that streak came to an end early as Williams left with a knee injury in the first half. Guard Adam Shead and tackle Lane Johnson also struggled through injuries, but stayed in the game. It's amazing this line has held up as well as it has, considering its health.
