Weekend Rewind: Oklahoma
By Bob Przybylo
What a difference two weeks makes for three-star athlete Dominique Alexander (Tulsa, Okla./Booker T. Washington). Two weeks ago he was seeing his first Oklahoma home game in person when the Sooners played Notre Dame.
Alexander can add another first after Saturday as he saw his first OU home game as a Sooners commit with OU’s win against Baylor.
Originally committed to Arkansas, Alexander decommitted from the Razorbacks and flipped to OU last week.
“My high school career ended Friday and that was tough,” Alexander said. “But then when I went to OU on Saturday, I realized, you know, this is really happening. I couldn’t have been happier.”
The Sooners also hosted a couple of top targets in four-star offensive tackle Aaron Cochran (Atwater, Calif./Buhach) and three-star defensive end and Oklahoma State commit Ogbonnia Okoronkwo (Houston/Alief Taylor).
OU didn’t earn commitments from either one of them, but the Sooners definitely won’t give up on Cochran. Offensive tackle is one of the positions of need for OU’s 2013 class.
