Roundtable: Who will lead OU in rushing?

By SoonerNation staff

Every Thursday during the season, the SoonerNation staff will answer a roundtable question about OU football. Leave a comment or talk about it in our "There's Only One" forum.

Today's question: Who will lead OU in rushing the last four regular-season games?

• I'll go with the healthy back here. Damien Williams is dealing with an ankle injury, and Dominique Whaley isn't fully back from his injury last year. That leaves Brennan Clay, who was terrific last weekend in the victory over Iowa State. I see Clay getting the majority of the rushing load going forward, and if the Iowa State game was any indication he'll do well with it.

• The Sooners make their money through the air, so Damien Williams' return to full health in the final few weeks of the season isn't much more than a nice boost for the offense. Nonetheless, Williams' will continue to show off his talents when healthy with back-to-back 100-yard games against Oklahoma State and TCU to end the regular season before breaking the 1,000-yard mark in OU's bowl game.

• Brennan Clay is going to get the most touches, but Damien Williams is going to make the most of his opportunities. Williams is going to be healthy down the stretch against Oklahoma State and TCU and will need to put up big numbers in those games for the Sooners to have any chance of making a BCS bowl game. Clay played the best game of his career against the Cyclones, but it's yet to be proven if he can do that on a consistent basis. A healthy Williams? No question about his ability.
