OU fans have their wish. Thomas is back in at No. 248 as the new ESPN 150/300 rankings were released Wednesday afternoon.
Thomas, who is 6-foot-5 and 220 pounds, was ranked No. 93 before a so-so showing at the Elite 11 finals. His performance there knocked him out of the list.
OU fans felt it was harsh to drop Thomas so swiftly as he was also busy playing baseball all summer and was not in full football mode.
He is now, and his performance on the field has brought him back in the list. Thomas is 181-of-281 for 2,960 yards with 33 touchdowns and four interceptions in nine games. He has accounted for seven touchdowns in three different games this season.
In other notable moves, four-star athlete Stanvon Taylor (Tulsa, Okla./East Central) moved up 31 spots from No. 231 to No. 200 and is now the No. 20 athlete after previously being ranked No. 25.
On the downside, a season without playing has seen four-star defensive end D.J. Ward (Moore, Okla./Southmoore) take a significant dip. Ward fell 22 spots from No. 88 to No. 110.
Cypress (Texas) Ranch running back Keith Ford remains OU’s highest-ranked commit, rising three spots to No. 29.
