Staff picks: Oklahoma vs. Iowa State
By SoonerNation staff
Oklahoma 23, Iowa State 14 The Cyclones are tough as nails in Ames, as Oklahoma State found out last season. This is a tough spot for the Sooners coming off such a disappointing loss to Notre Dame. I don't think they play well. But well enough to come away with a win.

Oklahoma 30, Iowa State 14 Taking advantage of its talent at the skill positions, OU takes an early lead thanks to two Landry Jones touchdown passes. The defense takes over from there shutting down the Cyclones in the first half then causing a key fourth-quarter turnover to halt ISU's attempted comeback and tack a final touchdown on the board to put the game away. Aaron Franklin continues to quietly emerge as a playmaker with a sack and forced fumble to help the Sooners secure another Big 12 road win.

Oklahoma 24, Iowa State 16 Don't really see this game as a gut-check one for the Sooners. It would be unfair to question the heart of OU because that hasn't been the problem this season. Executing in the redzone and not establishing a running game has been the problem in the two losses. OU won't come in sullen and will have to be at its best against the Cyclones in Ames, Iowa. With the uncertainty of Damien Williams, Dominique Whaley comes back with a quality outing. And as Cyclones try to stop Jalen Saunders, Kenny Stills has another 100-yard receiving game.
