Challenged at home? OU always answers

By David Ubben

So, you think Oklahoma's tough to beat at home? You have no idea. It's even harder if you're a good team. No. 15 Kansas State comes to town this weekend, and history will not be on the 'Cats side.

This is some crazy, crazy stuff, folks. In nearly a decade and a half under Bob Stoops, only one ranked team has come within single digits of the Sooners at home.

You've got to be kidding me. Stoops' Oklahoma teams have beaten ranked teams by an average of 28.2 points at home. Only four teams have come within 14 points. Eight of those wins were by at least 25 points.

The best part of that lone single-digit win? It was a Bill Snyder-coached Kansas State team, and it was a one-point loss. another Snyder-coached team comes to town on Saturday.

Here's how those 14 wins broke down:

2010 (1-0):
2009 (1-0):
2008 (3-0):
2007 (1-0):
2003 (2-0):
2002 (3-0):
2001 (1-0)
2000 (1-0)
1999 (1-0)
