The offensive tackle from Memphis (Tenn.) East picked up a scholarship offer from Oklahoma on Wednesday.
"That's huge," Morris said via text message.
Morris said he will take an official visit to Oklahoma but hasn't yet set a date. He is scheduled to visit Nebraska on Sept. 29 and UCLA on Nov. 17. Morris committed to the Bruins in July.
The sudden scholarship offer from Oklahoma is a bit surprising. Earlier this week, Morris said he hadn't spoken to the Sooners coaches in about a month. The loss of contact doesn't seem to bother Morris at all.
"They're a very high standard school full of great coaches, facilities and athletes," Morris stated.
UCLA will still have a certain appeal as its coaches try to hold onto Morris. He has long said he'd like to play on the west coast.
While Morris is expected to play offensive tackle in college, the 6-foot-6, 293-pound prospect has recently showcased some of his athleticism by playing defensive end.
