As word filtered across the state of Oklahoma regarding the Sooners' scholarship offer to Jordan Smallwood (Jenks, Okla./Jenks), many people took a glance at his offer list and raised their eyebrows. Smallwood didn’t wait long, committing to the Sooners on Thursday evening to become the first receiver in OU’s 2013 recruiting class.
And the in-state receiver, who held offers from Eastern Illinois and Wyoming, could be just what OU needs.
At 6-foot-2 and 194 pounds, Smallwood brings good size to the position. He’s athletic with good ball skills and body control, which could make him a quarterback’s best friend during his OU career.
