Every weekday morning, a member of the SoonerNation gives his take on three things happening in the Sooner sports world.

1. Some positions seem pretty set when it comes to Oklahoma’s 2013 class. If there aren’t commits at the spot, at least a few targets have risen above others. Two positions where things are still murky are wide receiver and linebacker. This hasn’t been from a lack of offers as wide receivers coach Jay Norvell and first-year linebackers coach Tim Kish have done their homework and offered many top recruits. Right now OU isn’t winning those battles although you could argue it hasn’t tried to win the battles yet. The next couple of weeks will be intriguing to see how the evaluation period goes with both receivers and linebackers.

2. Bedlam baseball has a bigger feel this weekend as OU continues to fight for its postseason life. Oklahoma State dominated the Sooners 8-1 last week in Stillwater in a non-conference showdown. OU followed that with a loss to Dallas Baptist before bouncing back with a two-game sweep of Kansas to put themat 9-8 in Big 12 play. With a tough series against Baylor on the horizon, this weekend will be huge for OU’s postseason chances.
