As Trey Franks enters his junior season in crimson and cream, the speedy receiver needs to seize the opportunity to become a key member of the offense at Oklahoma. This spring, Franks has begun to mature as a player and it’s showing on the field, according to his position coach.

“Trey Franks has had a very good spring,” receivers coach Jay Norvell said. “Trey has continued to develop as a player. He’s made tremendous progress in the spring, especially in the past week and a half.”

Franks, who has 51 receptions for 459 yards and one touchdown in 25 games as a Sooner, has always had the talent and speed to be a consistent playmaker. But he has learned that it takes more than sheer talent to succeed in the Big 12, so his mindset has changed.

“His maturity and his focus on the little things has really been good,” Norvell said.
