Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops has coined a nickname for the most versatile Sooner in the program: Slash.

Stoops used the nickname describe Trey Millard who has been lining up at running back, fullback, H-Back and tight end for OU this spring.

“He’s slash,” Stoops said. “I don’t know how he remembers it all but he does.”

Not only does he remember it all, he’s excelled wherever he lines up.

“For Trey to play all the positions he is playing is pretty impressive,” guard Tyler Evans said. “I love seeing him at running back -- “fat back” is what we call him because he’s so big. He’s bigger than all of our tailbacks and he can run.”

Arguably the Sooners' top special teams player as well, Millard made an immediate impression on new defensive coaches Mike Stoops and Tim Kish, who joined the program this spring after coaching at Arizona last season.

“The new guys, Mike and Tim Kish, have made the statement on more than one occasion that he might be the best player on the team,” Bob Stoops said. “He’s a great athlete that can do so many things.”
