Every weekday morning, a member of the SoonerNation gives his take on three things happening in the Sooner sports world.
1. Perhaps the best news of the spring so far has been the progress Dominique Whaley has made from a broken ankle. Much was made of the Ryan Broyles injury, but Whaley's absence had a significant impact on the OU offense sputtering down the stretch. Go watch his run against Texas on YouTube and you'll see why.
2. It will be interesting to see what Cale Gundy does with the OU backfield should Whaley return 100 percent. The offense will have a glut of running baks again with Whaley, Roy Finch, Brennan Clay and junior-college transfer Damien Williams. But as last year proved, you can never have too many running backs.
3. After getting swept by Texas, the Oklahoma baseball team showed some resolve to come back at Texas Tech after dropping the first game to win the series. It would have been a catastrophic if OU had lost that series, too. Instead, if they can take care of Kansas State this weekend, the Sooners will go to Texas A&M with a shot at climbing into third place if the Big 12 standings.
