Last week, safety Tony Jefferson singled out junior-college tight end Brannon Green as someone that has impressed him the most of the newcomers.

“He’s a good athlete, a workhorse,” Jefferson said. “I like 'Moose,' and I think he’ll be a good impact for our offense.”

The 6-foot-4, 260-pound Green, who has his nickname tattooed on his arm, transferred to Oklahoma with a reputation for being a blocking tight end. He caught only 22 passes during his two seasons at Fort Scott (Kan.) Community College.

Jefferson, however, countered that despite those stats, Green has the potential to be a factor in the OU passing game.

“He’s catching some good balls out there, running good routes,” Jefferson said. “I’ve had to lock him up and take him down. But he runs good routes and has really good hands.”
