OU offer could come soon for Baltimore

2/5/2012

Safety George Baltimore (Mansfield, Texas/Mansfield) has his choice of which junior days to attend.

He was at Baylor last weekend and chose Oklahoma over LSU this weekend because OU has had three different coaches visit the school showing interest. He said it was a good decision.

Baltimore, 6-foot and 195 pounds, wasn’t officially offered, but he did spend a lot of time talking with OU defensive backs coach Mike Stoops.

“He talked about my game and how much he liked what I’m able to do,” Baltimore said. “The offer didn’t come, but I think it might come here shortly.”

Baltimore fits the mold of the type of player Stoops has been targeting since rejoining the OU staff -- a big, physical defensive back.

What stood out to Baltimore the most on the visit was seeing OU’s weight room but not necessarily because of how impressive it was.

“What they were saying was how a lot of colleges can say they have the best equipment, and maybe OU doesn’t, but they get the best out of it," Baltimore said. "Their reputation speaks for itself.”

Baltimore was able to watch film with Stoops and said it was beneficial to hear what he does well and what he needs to work on.

Baltimore has offers from Michigan State and Texas Tech. And his junior day circuit is not over yet, either, as he will be at Texas A&M on Feb. 18.

“There are a lot of things to consider so I’m going to take my time and see everything,” Baltimore said.
