Every Thursday during the season, the SoonerNation staff will answer a roundtable question about OU football. Leave a comment or talk about it in our "There's Only One" forum.
Today's question: Jaz Reynolds had two touchdown catches last season vs. Kansas State. Will the suspended receiver catch a touchdown for the Sooners this season?
• I doubt Reynolds returns until mid-October at the earliest. By then, OU's receiving corps of Kenny Stills, Trey Metoyer, Justin Brown and Sterling Shepard will be solidified. But Reynolds is talented enough to still the Sooners, as position coach Jay Norvell pointed out Tuesday. The question is, will he get his chance? I say he does. And I say that Reynolds ends up with a touchdown before the season is over.

• I fully expect Jaz Reynolds to have a touchdown catch this season. If the junior continues to do the things that will keep him in good standing within the program, he can help the Sooners in 2012. So it's more a question of when. I think Reynolds will have at least one touchdown catch in November as the conference season begins to wind down. His combination of size, speed and ball skills will help the Sooners depth if/when he returns but don't expect him to become eligible to play and step right onto the field immediately. That's why his potential impact might not be felt until late in the season.

• I'm going to make a qualifying statement on this one. If Jaz Reynolds catches a touchdown pass, then that means OU has suffered some injuries at the position. The Sooners have a quality top three in Kenny Stills, Justin Brown and Trey Metoyer that I don't see Reynolds breaking through once again. And the more time freshmen Sterling Shepard and Durron Neal get, the more trust they'll have from Landry Jones and the coaches and more self-confidence they'll have. Reynolds might be saying and doing all the right things, but we've heard that song and dance before. Reynolds is a major talent but that's not everything.
