In a matter of weeks, concerns about Oklahoma’s possibilities at receiver in the Class of 2013 have lessened considerably.
Receiver Austin Bennett (Manvel, Texas/Manvel) committed to OU on Wednesday, joining Jordan Smallwood (Jenks, Okla./Jenks) as prep receivers who have elected since June 7 to wear crimson and cream. Bennett is a three-star prospect with a 75 grade on ESPN.
At 5-foot-11, 170 pounds, Bennett appears to be the ideal fit to line up at slot receiver for the Sooners. While he doesn’t possess elite speed, he’s quick and displays the type of change-of-direction skills that could make him a quality open-field runner when he arrives in Norman.
