Every weekday morning, a member of the SoonerNation gives his take on three things happening in the Sooner sports world.

1. Oklahoma picked up its fourth in-state commitment of the class of 2013 Thursday night when Jenks, Okla., receiver Jordan Smallwood committed to the Sooners. Smallwood, who is 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, was offered earlier in the day and said he was "grinning from ear-to-ear" when he heard he was being offered by OU. Smallwood said he's not taking anymore visits and is completely committed to the Sooners.

2. Cornerback Maurice Smith (Sugar Land, Texas/Dulles), who told SoonerNation he almost committed to Oklahoma while at the Sooners' junior day at March, gave his verbal commitment to Alabama late Thursday night. OU seemed to fall out of favor with Smith as he picked up interest across the country, earning several accolades, including an invitation to The Opening in July. The Crimson Tide and Texas were considered his favorites.
