Tight end Christian Morgan (Plano, Texas/Prestonwood Christian) said he has been attending the Red River Rivalry between Oklahoma and Texas for years.
Saturday was a little different for the junior, as it was the first time he was eyeing the schools as a prospect, even though he wasn’t on an official visit.
“It was a great experience,” Morgan said. “The environment – there is nothing like the OU-Texas atmosphere, with it being split down the middle.”
Morgan could have been a recruiting guest at the game but said he chose to watch the game with his family as he has done in the past.
“It allowed me to relax and just enjoy the game,” Morgan said. “I felt like [the Sooners] just got in a rhythm. Once their offense got clicking, they couldn’t stop. And their defense is so fast and athletic.”
Morgan did talk to OU tight ends coach Bruce Kittle before the game and has made several trips to the Oklahoma campus. He’s going to make another in two weeks, he said, for the Texas Tech game.
Morgan has no official offers but said he is being recruited the hardest by OU and Texas A&M.
