Is it draft day yet?

It’s never too early to talk about the 2015 NFL draft. ESPN draft expert Todd McShay posted his way-too-early 2015 Mock Draft Insider on ESPN insider today and it features three Big 12 stars.

Although none of the three standouts are projected in the Top 10, Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty, TCU defensive end Devonte Fields and Oklahoma linebacker Eric Striker are projected as first-round picks by McShay. Here’s a sample of McShay’s reasoning with each player.

On Petty:
“The 6-3, 230-pound Petty threw for 4,200 yards and a 32-to-3 TD-to-INT ratio.”

On Fields:
“He showed off his considerable talent as a freshman when he recorded 10 sacks for the Horned Frogs.”

On Striker:
“Striker is undersized at 6-foot, 219 pounds, but flashed during the Sooners' stunning Sugar Bowl win over Alabama, recording three sacks in OU's victory.”
