Here's what we learned during Oklahoma's 38-30 win over Texas Tech.

OU's offensive line was dominant. The Sooners had 50 carries for 277 yards and three touchdowns and passed the ball 22 times without a sack. OU's offensive front was very good against a Texas Tech run defense that entered the game allowing 3.3 yards per carry. If OU can continue to run the ball against any defense they face, the concerns about their passing game could be an afterthought.

Blake Bell just needs to make enough throws to keep teams honest. The Sooners passing game isn't nearing the production of last year's group, but Blake Bell was solid, going 14 of 22 for 249 yards and two touchdowns, including a stellar 76-yard dime onto the hands of Jalen Saunders. The junior was particularly solid on third down, connecting on 5 of 8 passes for 75 yards with a raw QBR of 90. OU doesn't need Bell to be Landry Jones. The Sooners only need him to force defenses to account for his passing ability or pay the price.

Sooners defense found a way. OU's pass defense faced a much tougher test in the Red Raiders, who entered the game as the nation's No. 2 pass offense. The Red Raiders passed for 388 yards, but on third downs the Sooners held TTU quarterback Davis Webb to 5 of 11 attempts for 77 yards, one touchdown and one interception. OU can't be happy about the total yardage and points they allowed, but they forced turnovers and got third-down stops when they needed them against TTU's offense.
