The Sooners have historically not played their best in season openers. That continues Saturday, as OU unveils a vanilla gameplan with Florida State looming in two weeks. Even with its best playmaker, Damaris Johnson, suspended, Tulsa has some success offensively in the first half, and keeps it close. But after a few halftime adjustments and a tongue-lashing by Bob Stoops, the Sooners come out in the third quarter and play like the No. 1 team in the country.
Pick to Click: Welcome back, Jamell Fleming. OU's senior cornerback intercepts G.J. Kinne in the second half and returns it for a touchdown to put the game away.
