Oklahoma cornerback Aaron Colvin has quietly become one of the most valuable players on the roster as a junior. Not only has he been superb in coverage, he has taken on a leadership role as well.
Colvin was particularly vocal against Kansas State as he tried to get his teammates fired up in the upset loss.
“If a guy messes up, I’m definitely on them and if I mess up and I want them to be on me too,” he said. “If a guy messes up they’re going to hear it from me.”
After playing a major role as a sophomore, tying for the team lead in tackles with 84, Colvin has the credentials to be a leader. His approach with his teammates is simple.
“Pick it up, play your game,” the junior said. “Sometimes guys stress too much I think, I see guys think too much and all these guys have talent so usually I tell them to play their game.”
