ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan wide receiver Roy Roundtree knows being a captain of the Wolverines his senior season isn’t a decision that is up to him.

But if it happens -- it would mean a lot to him.

“Since I’ve been here I’ve always worked hard as a student-athlete and it’s up to the players to vote on that. That ain’t the coaches,” Roundtree said Friday night before the Braylon Edwards Foundation Celebrity Basketball Game. “It’s the players and if you’ve got that bond and leadership aspect that all the younger players see on our team, then hey, if I become a captain that’d be a dream come true.”

Former Michigan wide receiver Braylon Edwards called out the Michigan coaching staff on Twitter Tuesday night for not recruiting his younger brother, Berkley.

"I don't understand how my brother has the eighth-fastest time in the country in the 60 meters, ran for 1,800 yards last year and UofM wontcall," Edwards tweeted around 8 p.m.

He followed that up with, "Love my school and I played for Coach Hoke but call my brother before its too late and you guys miss out."

Braylon Edwards was a part of the team when current coach Brady Hoke was an assistant in his final season with the Wolverines before heading to Ball State.

Berkley Edwards (Chelsea, Mich./Chelsea) is a 2013 running back who has onlyone offer so far, Central Michigan. ESPN lists his 40-yard dash time at 4.68 and his 20-yard shuttle run at 4.18.

Braylon was a standout at Michigan who was awarded the Fred Biletnikoff Award following his senior season. Their father, running back Stan Edwards, was also a Michigan football player in the late 1970s and early '80s who was drafted by the Houston Oilers and played six seasons in the league.

As a rookie with the Cleveland Browns in 2005, former Michigan receiver Braylon Edwards promised 100 public school eighth graders $10,000 toward college if they became exemplary students. Rick Reilly sits down with Edwards to discuss this program.
