ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- After four prospects decommitted from the USC Trojans since the beginning of November, the Trojans have finally got some good news as ESPN 150 safety Leon McQuay III (Seffner, Fla./Armwood) verbally committed to USC tonight during the Under Armour All-America Game.

The 6-foot-2, 183-pound four-star athlete selected the Trojans over Florida State, Oregon, Vanderbilt and Michigan.

As a senior, McQuay totaled 54 tackles and five interceptions on defense. He also added five receptions for 137 yards and a touchdown on offense.

McQuay, the nation’s No. 3 safety and a starter in Friday's UA Game, is expected to enroll early at USC and be eligible to play spring football.

With McQuay's decision, the Trojans have 15 verbal commitments, including 10 who are members of the ESPN 150. Each of the 15 commitments is ranked as a four-star or higher.

Hunt plans to visit Michigan on Jan. 11 after he returns home from the Under Armour All-America Game, Oregon on Jan. 18 and Cal on Jan. 25.

He’s also considering Ohio State, though he has yet to set a visit. It has been a long road for Hunt, who drew little recruiting interest before a breakout camp circuit last spring.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- ESPN 150 offensive lineman David Dawson (Detroit/Cass Tech) was committed to Michigan for several months before an October trip to the University of Florida violated Wolverines coach Brady Hoke's no-visit policy, causing the prospect and Michigan to part ways. The Wolverines then re-offered the No. 1 offensive guard in the nation a month ago.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Practices began Monday morning for the Under Armour All-America Game at Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports without outside linebacker Mike McCray II (Trotwood, Ohio/Trotwood-Madison), who underwent surgery this month to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder.

McCray, a Michigan commit, walked through registration Sunday with his arm in a sling. He said he was disappointed to miss the chance to practice and play this week with five other U-M pledges on the White Team.

Shane Morris (Warren, Mich./De La Salle) and his family were more than honored when Morris was selected to the Under Armour All-America Game, which kicks off at 5 p.m. ET Friday live on ESPN from Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Morris has plenty to prove in this game as the No. 4 ranked quarterback in the country, since he was out most of his senior season with mono. He has the arm and ability to make plays, and with weapons all around him he should be able to do just that.

He joins David Dawson, Patrick Kugler, Logan Tuley-Tillman and Henry Poggi on the Under Armour All-America roster. Here are the ESPN 150 quarterback's thoughts on the UA Game:

'Tis the season of giving, but there are still a few recruiting gifts that Michigan fans would like to receive this year. As we wind down the 2013 recruiting season, WolverineNation looks at five gifts Michigan fans would like to receive on signing day.

[+] EnlargeDerrick Green
Tom Hauck for ESPN.comDerrick Green would be a great holiday present for Michigan fans.
1. The gift of running - Michigan already has two running backs committed, but the addition of Derrick Green (Richmond, Va./Hermitage) would give the Wolverines some outstanding options going forward. Green is the No. 5 running back in the country, so it would be a huge boost to Michigan's run game. Green also happens to be good friends with offensive line commit David Dawson (Detroit/Cass Tech), who has been recruiting Green to Michigan once again. All Green has said as far as when he will make a decision is "soon," which could mean anything.

2. Interceptions - Safety Leon McQuay III (Seffner, Fla./Armwood) is still on the board, and as of now is expected to make his announcement at the Under Armour All America game on Jan. 5. He plans on enrolling early, and is likely deciding between Michigan, USC and Vanderbilt. All three schools seem to have him interested, and have something a little different to offer. If Michigan lands the talented defensive back he could be used in a variety of ways within defensive coordinator Greg Mattison's defense.

Malcolm Cook (Fork Union, Va./Fork Union) hasn't officially decommitted from Virginia following the firing of four assistants, but the safety said he's re-opening his recruitment.

In the last 48 hours, the prospect has received 11 offers and entertained visits and phone calls from the likes of Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State and USC. He planned to speak with the Trojans after basketball practice Wednesday, and he chatted in-person with Penn State assistant Charles London on Tuesday.

"It doesn't really matter to me about other schools looking at me," he said, when asked whether this new attention was a consolation. "The reason I committed to Virginia was because of the defensive coordinator, Coach [Jim] Reid. So I was really hurt by Coach Reid not being there.

Junior WR Nate Hall just getting started

The recruiting process is nothing new for junior athlete Nate Hall (Sylvania, Ohio/Southview) since both his brother Jimmy, now a sophomore at Northwestern, and friend Allen Gant went through the process.

Hall had seen what his brother and Gant, now at Michigan, went through and how they conducted themselves. That has helped him in the early stages of his recruitment.

“I went through some of these things with my brother, so I had a head-start on everything,” he said. “I already know what to expect and how everything will happen. Based off my brother’s recruitment, he didn’t get his first offers until around the spring, so I’ll just wait for then to see what happens.”

Weekend Rewind: Michigan

In another exciting finish at home, Michigan put on an excellent show for visiting prospects with an overtime win against Northwestern on Saturday. It took a little while for the crowd and game to get going, but the Big House was as loud as ever towards the end of the game.

Luckily for Michigan there were some big-time prospects on hand sitting front row to watch the thrilling win. The biggest was 2013 defensive back Leon McQuay (Seffner, Fla./Armwood), who was on campus for the second time.

The No. 32 ranked player in the country and his family came away very impressed with what Michigan had to offer. Despite still having a USC visit left to take, Michigan might have made his decision that much more difficult.

Laquon TreadwellZach Perry/intersportLaquon Treadwell seems to have added Illinois and Notre Dame to his list of possible destinations.
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan will need a big, athletic receiver next season, especially if Devin Gardner winds up at quarterback.

One of the bigger names remaining on Michigan's 2013 recruiting board would fit the bill perfectly.

Laquon Treadwell (Crete, Ill./Crete-Monee) has kept track of recruiting classes as well as shifts in depth charts. The 6-foot-3 four-star receiver wants to play early, so both will likely affect his decision. He's also looking at how teams are playing, and while the Wolverines are running a quasi-spread offense with Denard Robinson, he's well aware of their plans to move to a pro-style offense, so he has read up on that.
