Denard Robinson Record Watch
By Michael Rothstein
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Denard Robinson is back, and while his role might be ever-changing with Michigan, his productivity is still intact.
And it means, despite a two-and-a-half game absence, Robinson still has a shot at the FBS quarterback rushing record held by former West Virginia quarterback Pat White.
While Robinson is bouncing between positions, an NCAA spokesman said earlier this week Robinson's rushing numbers would still count as quarterback rushing yards because it matters what he is classified as -- in this case a quarterback -- instead of where he lines up to start a play.
FBS CAREER QUARTERBACK RUSHING YARDS:
1. Pat White, West Virginia (2005-08): 4,480 yards.
Total yards Robinson needs to pass White: 208.
Average over one regular season game to pass White: 208.
Average over two games (one regular season plus bowl game) to pass White: 104.
Average over three games (one regular season game, Big Ten title game and bowl game) to pass White: 69.3.
2. Brad Smith, Missouri (2002-05): 4,289 yards.
Total yards Robinson needs to pass Smith: 17.
Average over one regular season game to pass Smith: 17.
