UA AA game invaded by U-M commits

By Tom VanHaaren

In the 2012 class Michigan had two commitments -- cornerback Terry Richardson and linebacker Joe Bolden -- participate in the Under Armour All-America Game. Spring ball hasn't even ended yet and Michigan already has more than double that amount committed to the 2013 Under Armour game.

David Dawson
David Dawson is one of three Michigan OL commits who will play in the Under Armour All-American Game.
Offensive linemen David Dawson (Detroit/Cass Tech), Logan Tuley-Tillman (Peoria, Ill./Manual) and Patrick Kugler (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny), cornerback Gareon Conley (Massilon, Ohio/Washington) and quarterback Shane Morris (Warren, Mich./De La Salle) have all accepted invitations to the annual game.

This isn't the final tally of Michigan commits to be selected for the game, but given the fact it's only April, this is a big deal to say the least.

With three offensive linemen and a quarterback in the game, if they are selected to the same team, it will give the future teammates an opportunity to build chemistry and show what they can do together.

"I think it will be exciting to work with each other," Kugler said. "Hopefully we will all be on the same team so we can show the dominance Michigan's recruiting class has."

The sunny weather doesn't hurt either, as Dawson commented on the chance to play in Florida and visit Disney as one of the bonuses for him on top of being able to protect his future quarterback.

Tuley-Tillman was hoping he would get the chance to play in the Under Armour game as he saw some of his future teammates continue to have their names called. The fast riser was excited once he got the news that he, too, would be an All-American.

"It's one of the highest honors to be an Under Armour All-American," he said. "I get to play in it with all of my brothers, which makes it even better."

On top of the five commitments that have accepted invites, there are a few Michigan targets who also have accepted to play in the game next January. Defensive tackles Montravius Adams (Vienna, Ga./Dooly County) and Henry Poggi (Baltimore/Gilman), wide receiver Robert Foster (Monaca, Pa./Central Valley) and defensive back Priest Willis (Tempe, Az./Marcos De Niza) are all slated to be in the game.
