2013 DB excited about U-M offer
By Tom VanHaaren
Michigan has had a ton of success recruiting Detroit Cass Tech, most recently landing Terry Richardson and Royce Jenkins-Stone in the 2012 class. The coaching staff is now trying to continue that streak by extending an offer to 2013 defensive back Jourdan Lewis.
The 5-foot-10, 170-pound prospect grew up a Michigan fan, and was hoping this offer would come through.
"I was getting ready for my basketball game and Coach (Thomas) Wilcher came down to the locker room to tell me," he said. "I was so excited. I tried to hold back the excitement, but I don't think I could."
Despite the fact Wednesday is signing day for the 2012 class, Lewis plans on calling Michigan coach Brady Hoke Wednesday to discuss the offer. As far as how Lewis sees his recruitment playing out, he says he wants to take everything one step at a time.
"I think I'm going to slow it down right now. I want to see what schools offer me and visit them," he said. "I think I want to visit Michigan first, though. And Michigan is definitely the leader."
