Ohio is the prime state in the Midwest when it comes to producing football prospects, with 346 ranked three-stars or higher from 2010 to 2013. The state produces great prospects year in and year out, but it isn’t the only place top talent is bred in the region.
Illinois has produced 146 three-stars or better in the same time frame and is the home to some of the top Midwest talent. However, the distinct difference in recent years is that Illinois' top prospects are going outside the Big Ten.
