David Dawson (Detroit/Cass Tech) is the No. 1 ranked guard in the country, and is going to the Under Armour game with a chip on his shoulder. Hoping to prove his ranking is valid and spend some time with future teammates, Dawson is excited for the opportunity that the Under Armour All-America game, which kicks off on Jan. 4 at 5 p.m. EST live on ESPN from Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., brings.
Dawson will also have the chance to build chemistry with future linemates at Michigan with Logan Tuley-Tillman and Patrick Kugler. All three will be blocking for Shane Morris as well, and since Tuley-Tillman is the only one of the bunch enrolling early, this gives them some extra practice time.
Here are the ESPN 150 lineman's thoughts on the UA Game:
WN: What do you hope to accomplish at the Under Armour All-America Game?
Dawson: I'm going in to prove why I was ranked No. 1 at my position.
WN: Which prospect that you’ve never met do you want to meet and why?
Dawson: I've pretty much met everyone at different camps, so there isn't really anyone that comes up.
WN: What’s the best advice you’ve received going into the game?
Dawson: I was just told to have fun, but not to let anyone out work me.
