Shane Morris (Warren, Mich./De La Salle) and his family were more than honored when Morris was selected to the Under Armour All-America Game, which kicks off at 5 p.m. ET Friday live on ESPN from Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Morris has plenty to prove in this game as the No. 4 ranked quarterback in the country, since he was out most of his senior season with mono. He has the arm and ability to make plays, and with weapons all around him he should be able to do just that.
WN: What do you hope to accomplish at the Under Armour All-America Game?
Morris:: I just want to go out there and play the best I can. I want to prove I'm still one of the best quarterbacks in the nation even though I didn't get to prove it this season.
WN: Which prospect that you’ve never met do you want to meet and why?
Morris: I want to meet Adam Breneman. Even though he can't play [Breneman is out with an injury] he seems like a great kid. With everything he's doing right now with Penn State and the foundation he started, he seems like a cool kid.
WN: What’s the best advice you’ve received going into the game?
Morris: The best advice I got was to treat it as a business trip and compete. Treat everything like I'm on the field as a college freshman and competing for the starting job.
