Watch List junior Nathaniel Devers (Massillon, Ohio/Washington) has his favorites, but he’s not ready to make a decision.
The 6-foot-3, 265-pound Devers wanted to make that clear before continuing, but that didn’t mean the offensive guard wasn’t ready to discuss his top three following a 34-14 win over Austintown Fitch last week.
Schools such as Alabama, Cincinnati, Kent State, Michigan, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Wisconsin have shown interest, while Toledo has offered.
But right now Devers' favorites are Alabama, Michigan and Northwestern. Here’s what he had to say about all three.
Alabama: “They’re a championship team. You watch them and they just pump out NFL prospects. People go there, obviously because they love Nick Saban.”
Michigan: “Michigan coaches are genuine. Brady Hoke is so down to earth. He makes you feel like you’re part of the family even though you’re in the Class of 2014.”
Northwestern: “I love the coaches at Northwestern. Adam Cushing -- their offensive line coach – is my favorite coach. I talk to him a lot. I’ve been up there once. I’m going up there again, I think for the Nebraska game (on Oct. 20).”
Devers said he’d catch this weekend’s game between the Wolverines and Illinois at Ann Arbor, Mich., but still doesn’t know when he’ll get out to Alabama because of time constraints and expenses.
