The commitment from cornerback Channing Stribling (Mathews, N.C./Butler) took some Michigan fans by surprise. A name really no one had heard of before camp now holds an offer and is the No. 22 commit to the No. 1 class in the country.

Most of the surprise came because Michigan was still in hot pursuit of cornerbacks Leon McQuay (Seffner, Fla./Armwood), the No. 39 overall player in the country, and Kendall Fuller (Olney, Md./Good Counsel), ranked as the No. 28 player in the country.
