Former Michigan center David Molk didn't quite get the NFL combine record on the bench press.
But he came close.
His trainer, Mike Barwis, tweeted Friday afternoon that Molk bench-pressed 41 reps of 225 pounds at the NFL combine in Indianapolis -- strengthening his case to move up in April's NFL Draft.
It was a good 24 hours for the Rimington winner. He measured in at the combine at 6-foot-1, 298 pounds -- an increase of his college weight of 286 pounds. His arms measured out at 32 inches and his hands at 8 7/8ths inches.
His 41 reps were not yet listed on the NFL combine's official web site, but had the top bench press total as of 4:30 p.m. at Stanford's David DeCastro at 34 reps. Molk beat that by seven.
