Breaking down the Big Ten race

Two weeks from now, it'll all be settled. The regular season will be over, the Big Ten tournament will be days away and Selection Sunday will happen in less than a week's time.

But between now and then, there is still a question of who is going to win the Big Ten. There are two perennial contenders -- Ohio State and Michigan State -- along with upstart Michigan, trying to capture its first regular season title since the 1985-86 season, when none of the current players had been born, assistant coaches LaVall Jordan and Bacari Alexander were in grade school, assistant coach Jeff Meyer was in his fifth season as the head coach at Liberty and John Beilein was coaching to a 14-15 record at Division II Le Moyne.

So it has been a while.
