Michigan will be hosting a good amount of visitors this weekend for the basketball game against Ohio State. Among those visitors will be 2013 defensive end Taco Charlton (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington Central).
Charlton has been to Ann Arbor already, but each time on campus gives him an opportunity to experience something new.
"I'm really excited just for the whole trip, and to get to see everything," he said. "I'm not looking for anything really specific. I just want to get to see the whole campus, and get the chance to sit down and talk to all the coaches."
His father made the trip with him the first time, and mom will be on hand this time as well. Both parents, Charlton said, will have a few questions to ask the coaches, but are mainly looking to take in the environment.
Charlton is taking everything in for now, and isn't really sure about how and when he will start to narrow his list down.
"I don't know because each day I hear from a different school," he said. "I'm going to come out with a top seven maybe soon."
A top seven list that will most likely include Michigan, which is something he never thought would be the case.
"As a kid, no way (did he think he'd like Michigan). Really even until they started showing interest in me I never thought I would be talking to them, but I love it now," he said. "Michigan and all the schools that offered me early because I started developing a relationship with them early."
Building a relationship early is something that the Michigan coaching staff has focused on with this class. The staff has also had a helper on the recruiting trail with quarterback commit Shane Morris.
"Shane is a great player and a real good dude. He definitely recruits hard for Michigan," he said. "But I know I have to do what's best for me at the end of the day, and maybe that's Michigan, I don't know just yet."
